Save the Date! Fremont Area Big Give 2024

The Fremont Area Big Give is an online 24-hour giving challenge led by the Fremont Area Community Foundation. The goal is to raise unrestricted dollars for the nonprofits in the area. It's an opportunity for the community to showcase their generosity and support the work happening here in Fremont. When we all come together in generosity we make Fremont a great place to live, work, and thrive! MainStreet of Fremont will be participating again this year. Our organization exists to improve the quality of life in Fremont by strengthing the historic downtown as the center of the community. we encourage, promote, and support the downtown's economic vitality and the image and appearance of downtown as a whole.

This year, our major goal for the Fremont Area Big Give on Tuesday, May 7th, is to raise money to go towards the cost of replacing the banners that hang on the historic light poles downtown. We are in charge of desiging, printing, and maintaining the banners throughout the year downtown. The City helps to hang and change out the banners as requested. Typically banners will last about 3 - 5 years depending on the wear and tear caused by sunlight, wind, and being outside in the elements. The banners currently in our collection are beginning to need replaced. You can help fund that by giving during the Big Give on May 7th.

We will also be using donations to improve our events such as Crazy Days & Chalk Art Festival held on July 20th, 2024. When you give to MainStreet of Fremont you give to experiences, memories, and family bonding time. You give to support risk-takers, dreamers, and entrepreneurs and small business owners finding support within the community. You give to the beautification of the downtown district. When you give to MainStreet of Fremont you give to change and betterment of the downtown community as a whole. As a nonprofit organization we rely on donations and grants to help us grow our capacity, events, and overall programming so that we can support the downtown district to the best of our ability.

“Last year was the first time I had the opportunity to participate in the Fremont Area Big Give,” Lainey Paquette, Executive Director says. “I was blown away by the generosity of this community and how for 24 hours so many people came together to support the work of nonprofits all over the city.”
