MainStreet of Fremont Façade Improvement Grant
MainStreet of Fremont, Inc. has established an Incentive Grant Program to provide financial assistance to new and existing businesses located within the Downtown Improvement District of Fremont. The grant may be used for outside renovations such as signage, painting, awnings and any improvement that enhances the property and conforms to the historic nature of the district. Projects must also conform to applicable City ordinances.
Do I qualify?

The grant will be used for approved façade improvements consistent with the historic look of downtown Fremont that MainStreet of Fremont is trying to promote and maintain.

Applicants may be either the property owner or tenant. Tenants must have written approval by the building owner of the project to be submitted with application.

The maximum grant award will be $750, which must be matched by a ratio of 1:3 MSF/Applicant. For example, an approved project of $3,000 will consist of a $750 MSF and $2,250 applicant contribution. Projects over $3,000 will still be subject to the $750 maximum award.

The applicant must submit the request prior to the start of the project, with a description of the renovations that will be done along with an estimate of the costs. Proposals should include plans, drawings, paint colors where applicable. Any changes made after a grant has been approved may jeopardize the grant.

Grants will be disbursed upon the completion of the project as approved.

Applicants must have been a partner of MainStreet of Fremont for at least 1 year before being eligible for a grant, however new businesses may be considered at the discretion of the Board.

Applicants must be current with their dues.

Grant recipients can only receive 1 grant per 36 month period.

Approval will be voted on by the Board of Directors before grants can be awarded.

The Board meets on the 2nd Wednesday of the month. Grant applications must be submitted 2 weeks prior to the Board meeting where it will be considered.

Total Grants awarded in one fiscal year cannot exceed $3,000 or an amount otherwise approved by the MainStreet of Fremont Board of Directors.
